My Mood:
Welcome Yorkiedad5 to the forum! The chances are that if the date of a 1972 cent is easily recognized as "doubled", but none of the lettering, it is machine doubling of the date. The true doubled die varieties of the 1972P that have the doubling only in the date are very difficult to see and identify. Photos are necessary for us to validate, and if you search there are many threads on machine doubling that might help you have a better idea. Again Welcome!
