They also state that the sample base of 300 coins is too small to determine if there is any deterioration. Even a crack that exists on the first coin will eventially deteriorate over the course of its life. It would have to as it is damage to the die and repeated striking will eventually increase the damage. The article is hype to get the interest flowing on this coin so they can sell it to people who don't know better. the price will go up but eventually it will go back down. This is the same strategy used in the 50;s and 60's to sell "BIE" die chips as major errors. most of them you can't give away today.
