When I first found this forum I was strictly a collector of mint issued proof sets, mint sets, and commemoratives. In that years time the folks here have encouraged me to take off the blinders and not be so narrow in my collecting. I never realized that there was so much out there (in the market place) that was truly accessible as well as affordable.
The background knowledge that you need to truly enjoy the hobby has all been acquired thanks to this site....I'm still learning thanks to the many "coin savy" members who post here. I don't think a day goes by that I don't learn something new on these boards.
