Cointalk, has affected me DRASTICALLY! I joined just over a year ago, and I knew nothing at all.
I collected Canadian small cents and large cents, and Now I stick (mostly) to Lincolns. CT has taught me about cleaning, counterfeit detection, AT and NT, over priced coins, TPG's-the good and the bad,and believe it or not, strengthened some of my ethics.
I didn't know anything before I joined here, and now I feel comfortable walking into a coin shop. Still dont know what Im doin when I get in there
