My Mood:
use common sense people...soft cotton gloves will not scratch metal... you can hold the coin in your gloved palm without harming the coin...good lord...if you dont have gloves, pick it up by the rim...if you have gloves...dont rub the coin with all your might but you wont harm the coin by touching the surfaces lightly with soft cotton...

In the end...if the coin is heavily circulated, you arent going to do any more damage holding it in your clean hands then years of circulation has already done. All the same I dont tough surfaces unless I have gloves on...
