Referring to the numbering of US notes in the Standard Catalog of World Paper Money (the Pick Catalog) as Krause numbers will cause confusion to collectors of these notes in the US. This is because there is a catalog of US currency, The Standard Catalog of US Paper Money which was originally authored by Chet Krause and Robert Lemke. It uses a different numbering system than the Pick Catalog. A US collector would expect Krause numbers to refer to the US catalog not the Pick Catalog.
