What predcarn said exactly. I would suggest you find a place to acquire a Whitman, Dansco or Littleton Album though to give yourself a place to put what you collect.
A cheap way to get started is to first go to a bank and buy a bag of cents. $50 a bag. After you go through them you just return them to a different bank so they don't get mad at you. You can do the same with Nickels.
