Of course this is fake and that is why I pointed to this to show how similar they made the obverse die. If they would have created a silver piece with the right reverse then it would have passed off...

Small Lion and Large Lion on the obverse. The small variety is the scare one. I do not have pictures now to illustrate. Hope this helps.
I came across this interesting token while on ebay. This is way overpriced but I was stuck with the finesse of the obverse design.

Forget about the NNC grade/graded coins and buy on raw on ebay for $10-15.
First of all welcome punekari!
I am not an expert or a collector of this series and so cannot add any knowledgeable information on the piece you posted, however know for a fact that all the...
Superb one as usual!
The Indian Rupee for the date is one of the best I have seen. Good lot of coins.
Very nice.
Mumba your first coins would then be those quarters.. :p:goofer:;)
Very interesting thread! My first was a Kennedy half which got me interested in collecting in the first place.
regandon,
Love the Frankfurt one! I tried going to omnicoin but it tell me that only members can use the page. Can you please post a public link to this? It would be great watching the virtual set.
Very nice.
DCH already identified this. India Gupta Empire. I however do not like the look of this coin. It might be the pictures, but I would not bid on these at auction. Edited to add-- if this is indeed...
I like them all-- the Peso the most.
Did Goldberg have any non-US lots? If yes then I missed those. All the ones I am interested in Long Beach are already over my maximum, and the ones I don't want don't have any bids. :) I agree the...

These are not coins/tokens issued by the East India Company. These might be collectible but only as a novelty and not by serious collectors. I do not see how these might be "highly collectible". :)

This is not a coin at all. It is either a temple token or a modern fantasy piece. From the looks of it, I would say modern fantasy piece. Do not bid on this at all.
There were no milled coins for...
This should be coming from Richard Lobel. Though I do not know about this piece, similar pieces were attributed to him. You can contact him directly (google on his name-- he has a website). The...
I like all of your newps. Are you doing an animal theme?
Ratlam state paisa. Date is actually VS 1945 -- 1888. Krause is wrong in saying it is VS 1947 and the book on Ratlam coinage gives the right date as it should be. kidromeo the "Sa" actually means...
Very nice coin regandon! Congrats on the new purchase.
ebay does not seem to care about these being reported to them. I pity the buyers. Here are two more copies of Madras 2 pagoda and pagoda gold coins. These are modern ones and not contemporary ones.

Very nice kidromeo. I hope you enjoyed yourself there.
These seem to be the common W.W. raised variety and with the stains and all you would just get a little above melt for these.
