Taiwan ROC 1 yuan or dollar.
I have a better chance of finding silver quarters in change than finding them in rolls. I don't bother with rolls of quarters. I find about 1 silver dime for every $150 searched. I search mostly...
45c Canadian dosh, and an Aruba 10 cent coin.
If you have been around long enough you learn that Krause and Pick prices are just a suggestion. They are at the whim of the contributors and of course they can have a vested interest in pricing...
It sort of crosses into the "medallic" category as it was the dimensions and fineness of the then 5 RM coin. I have not seen them in original boxes, but 85+ years later many boxes are lost.
BTW I...
Adding to what Peter says, I won't buy anything at a full collector price in any slab save NGC and PCGS. Even they mess up, but just not as much.
Like the idea of finding a mintmark on a 1930 dated cent:yes: I have sort of cut back on cent box searches - just don't have the time and when I was getting them they were backing up and my 8 year...
Great piece, thanks for sharing. Isn't amazing how few of the original mintage must have survived exporting and melting? I have an 1806 "Tables of Interest" book from the Royal Bank of Scotland...
I got bitten by that bug ca. 2004 and purchased a nice original 1799 in VF-35. One recommendation I can make is don't buy a details coin or a coin with any damage. Good honest wear is better than...
I am not seeing ads or getting Chrome messages. I think I am supporting, but not sure.
My 1794 Large cent is on the DNS list, I guess the kids would have to be shoeless and starving then I might sell it. I haven't really sold too many coins though, banknotes though I sold a large...
I save the pre-82's I find, but I really get chits and giggles out of finding 100+ year old Lincolns.
I have only managed to find one Italian 2 cent coin, lots of French and German though. My oldest Italian find, in a five cent coin roll - 1913 20 centesimi - the flying nude coin - in a nickel roll....
I hunt for silver war nickels, Buffalos, very occasional Liberties etc. It is a cheap and relatively harmless form of gambling, and even my 8 year old is in on it now. The only date and MM after...
In a box search of nickels I turn up an average of 2-3 1939 dated coins. I find about 1 1938 for every 10-12 1939 dated coins. They are out there.
Watch out, he will report you for cyberbullying.
Very cool coin. Sure would love to see Petra, but the Middle Beast is way off my radar.
All this worry and constipation for naught.
Yesterday I roll searched some cents and came upon a roll that had a larger coin in it, I thought it would be another British penny, but alas it was a French 10 Franc from 1957.
This sounds like an Isle of Man halfpenny from that year, there should be an eagle and a cap with a baby in it - the crest of the Stanley family. Those are really more "coin" than tokens as they...
I second the opinion on early Islamic - the script was a lot more "blocky" earlier on.
I have several dozens of them from coin roll hunting. Surely along the line someone paid more than a cent for the coin on the card - but then jr. got hold of it and spent the cent.
I'd keep them all myself - particularly the 20 and the 2. The others I would keep as "emergency money" which is only spent on coins of course since they are only real emergency.
I have found those batteries in reject slots in coinstars, but the best is when you find them in Brinks rolls - yup.
You can take them candy and treats but they cannot legally take gifts. One of my post office clerks gets all the foreign stamps I get in the mail - she uses them for a cub scout project.
