Very interesting. I never knew the raised rims were there to protect the design and make them last longer also. Makes perfect sense and a good idea to help make them last longer and more durable.

I've heard ballistic used by the "younger" generation like as going crazy. For example, "I heard Joe went ballistic when he found out he fell for a scam!"
