The collection is frustrated these days: I can't get new gold eagles or even proof silver eagles ! I wish I'd bought a lot more back when the dealers were selling me 1/4 oz gold eagles for $110; not too long ago, either.
I sold some gold jewelry for my wife at a local coin dealer. They pay 75% of spot. I discovered (not the hard way) that some of the cable-tv advertisers for gold jewelry pay less than 50% ! You gotta wonder about the companies that send you an envelope where you just fill it up with your gold and send it through the mail, with their name on the outside. I wonder how often the gold gets "lost" en route.
How are you doing ? I remember you said you sold most of your eagles to rebuild your basement, or some such ?
We went to Lake Chelan, Washington, for a week's vacation last autumn, and we went to Branson, Missouri, for a week a month back. I'm not sure where we're going next.
