I apologize for taking so long to reply. I have kinda abandoned the forum for some time. It is called a Van Dorn Battle Flag, as it was the personal flag of Gen Earl Van Dorn. Versions of it were carried by many Confederate units west of the Mississippi during the Civil War and is emblematic of my heritage. My GGG Grandfather served and died in the Confederacy west of the Mississippi, and I am now involved with the Sons of Confederate Veterans working to perserve and commemmorate the memories of our Civil War ancestors.
