Nice shades. Awesome...I didn't notice til now that you are your avatar ... 'cept with a little more gray....haha, I'm getting more of that stuff too. Do you know, or is there someone in your threads that might know if minting a UHR reverse proof would be possible. I guess it would need to be somebody that actually used to work in a mint, or else numismatist engineer, if there is such.
Great site with good people....Thanks, Chuck
  2. Ah - This is about Spock! Now I understand all the crosstalk I've been getting which was puzzling me. DON'T WORRY about SPOCK. The Spock theme has been going on for years. Its mostly an inside joke. Every forum that is worth anything has something like this going on. Do a search on King Spock and you'll understand your getting worked up over something that isn't quite as severe as it might at first appear. BTW - Spock can give you some great information and his opinions are often dead on.

  3. I've found that rude people have often been sources of great information and even later friendships. The social dynamics of the net is different than it is when people are face to face....trust me

As for the removal of names from the board, it not only serves no practical purpose but it would create gaps in the database that drives the site. Its possible but really not a recommended thing to do to a live website like this one.

  4. hmmm

A discussion like this is probably better off being done through private messages. But since it is public, I'd just like to say rohumpy, that I appreciate your posts and read them and your very much welcome, at least by me, on Cointalk. You have a lot of different people on cointalk and trust me, as a pharmacist who deals with a wider variety of the public than most people, that there are a lot of different kinds of people in the world, not all of them pleasant. I'm certainly not always pleasant. A thick skin when working with any on line community is a necessity because if moderates hammer too hard on decorum, then the entire board will collapse and it turns into a small country club of a few selected favorites.
  5. Yeah, I agree he was rude. But while we ask members not to be rude, it is not really against any forum rules. Being rude is something people do every day, here or anywhere else. What would you like us to do - hand out infractions every time somebody is rude ? And how would we define what constitutes being rude ?

And as I tired to explain to you before - it is not that we cannot remove a member's name - it is that we won't remove a member's name. As I said, it is our policy to not do so.

The poster told me not to post on his thread. That is the problem. I have no control over whether you don't see logic in anything. Does a poster own any thread? Does a poster have the right to be rude? I suppose so, if that does not break any forum rules.

And actually it was more than one poster. Another chimed in to support the original poster.

All that aside, I find it inconceivable that you as an administrator cannot remove a name from the forum.
  7. You don't feel welcome because of the comment of 1 person ? I fail to see the logic in that.

The post you refer to does not break any forum rules, that is why it was allowed to stand. As for your request, we do not remove any member names from the list of members - that is our policy.

I am contacting an administratoto ask why nothing was said about post 46 on the thread " how to cure polished coins." If this kind of post is allowed to stand, then I have no choice but to ask that my name be removed from the cointalk forum list of members. (sorry about the change of font, don't know why)

The forum has been a pleasure, but at this point I don't feel welcome.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.
  9. No I do not. But I continue to study them and still buy books on coins.

I saw in one of your posts that you sold your entire collection? Do you still collect coins?
