Hello. I am hoping for some opinions on the value/potential grade of this 1947-D Jefferson Nickel. I hope my photos are good enough.

Thank you very much for your time.

The photos are a little blurry but I see a nice untoned MS65 Jefferson Nickel. No way I can grade the steps with those photos.

Thanks for your quick reply. I've tried to get a better photo of the steps, but haven't gotten one yet. If I do get one which is nicer, I'll post it here.

    Thanks again!

OK, I guess I'm a bit obsessive tonight...

This one any better? Same coin, but new photo and cropped to just the steps. If not, I really *am* calling it a night! :smile

Yes the photo is better. Unfortunately there is a very large bridge between the 4th and 5th steps under the third pillar. No full steps for this coin.

Thanks again for the replies. To make sure I'm understanding correctly, is the "bridge" sort of right out from the "C" in "MONTICELLO"? If so, I think I see what you're referring to.

A bridge refers to where the steps are blended together and the line is interrupted. Here is a larger photo of a Jefferson Nickel with a bridge in exactly the same location as your coin.

This is the most common location for the steps of a Jefferson Nickel to be incomplete.

As before, thank you so much. I don't think I would have ever seen that with the naked eye. Since I've got some other older Jeffersons which look about the same condition-wise (naked eye) to me, I think I'm going to wait for the magnifier I recently ordered to come in the mail before I pick any more to try photographing.
