    Hi guys,

I've had this coin for some time now and I'm not quite sure what it is. Can you guys have a look and let me know if it's worth anything?

    Thanks!

The back of the coin says: THOMAS JEFFERSON BORN APR 13, 1743 A GREAT INTELLECTUAL AUTHOR OF THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE DEFENDER OF RELIGIOUS FREEDOM FOUNDER OF U OF VA DIED JULY 4, 1826

The front of the coin has a portrait of Jefferson and says:
    THOMAS JEFFERSON
    1801 1809
THIRD PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES

No other dates or mint information...

It's not a coin, it's a token. Some tokens can be valuable, but most are not.

I admit that I cannot attribute this specific token, but it appears to be a generic token of recent mintage, and I will go out on a limb and say it has no significant value.

It looks very much like the tokens given out by gas stations in the late 60's or early 70's. I believe it was Shell.

You're right about Shell but those were mostly aluminum. Maybe previous to the aluminum ones they gave out these ones, I don't know. :thumb:

    I have an aluminum one, it's a Roosevelt. $1.00

It looks like part of a set that Shell gas stations gave out in the late 80's-early 90's. My uncle has the full set and the set(complete) is wort about 10 dollars. So, it is probably not worth much. Sorry
