Which is your favorite, NGC or PCGS... I like NGC, and only have 1 slabbed PCGS coin, my quarter eagle. The ASE's, Silver Buffalo, Morgans, and Presidential dollars are in NGC... NGC ALL THE WAY! :hammer:
I'll say NGC also, as I have heard they are the most consistent company when it comes to grading of the two. But I naturally like PCGS also. Phoenix
you should have an "either" option I buy coins... not holders. I have absolutely nothing against slabs. I send a lot of coins off to be graded by NGC, PCGS and ANACS. I am picking NGC though... for their edge-view holder and multi-coin holder, I really like how they show off the coin.
Buy the coin, not the holder.. I got ya' But my question really should be this, if there is an MS65 morgan PCGS and NGC, same exact coin, same looking, and same year, and everything... Which one would you choose?
I like NGC because I think that rainbow toned coins look better against the white insert rather than the clear plastic of PCGS. I have run into many collectors that think just the opposite. But for me, the contrast from the color on the coin and the white insert really brings out the colors. I am also a big fan of the star designation. Now if we can just get Heritage to make the star designation a search criteria, I would be in business.
PCGS and NGC which one I prefer? the fool or the village idiot? maybe ill prefer one of them once they learn to read and write and can label properly grading can come afterwards. which one of you would buy from them if your morgan had franklin half written on it or lincoln cent had 2 cents written on the slab. No takers? i thought so
Spock, You know there are people that actually collect slab errors don't you. I wish they would mis label a Saint with 1933.
I think you work for NGC Seriously though, I prefer NGC. But PCGS is good as well. They're both certainly well ahead the rest. I kind of prefer raw coins though.
I send coins to both PCGS & NGC. I have a personal preference for the white colored holders & the consistency of NGC. What I don't like is having a nice matched set of coins all in one type of holder & having to include one coin in a different holder which won't cross. Very best regards, collect89
yeah.... It totally turns me off, buying wise, seeing a set, saying complete, and saying something like this "100 coins slabbed PCGS 1 NGC" lol But it will sell as long as it says "L@@K R@RE, @WES@ME!
The outcome would have been reversed. It has taken some time, but people have finally begun to learn that PCGS is not the end all be all when it comes to grading coins. They have begun to realize that PCGS is very inconsistent in how they assign grades.
this poll does not really mean anything - NGC and PCGS are good and not so good - it depends on the coin. NGC is better at some and PCGS is better with others. what about ICCS? i guess this is meant to be US coin specific? -steve
