Well we do appreciate seeing the results of your endeavor. That '11 is about as perfect an example as you could expect to find, IMO. Nice!
Hrmm not sure what happened there but it won't let me change it so here are the rest. 1909s dime 1916 Dime - have to take this one out 1911D half
It is a great thread, when you string up several new acquisitions between members, it's amazing stuff.
Just stumbled on this thread and thought I would a couple of mine out a d image for you guys real quick This is probably gonna take 2 posts I think 1892 EF Details These are my other 1892s AU Details On to the next post.........
And the last half dollar Whaddaya think? I have the 1892s in details holders for a reason. One of the first nice coins my grandfather ever gave me was the EF 45 cleaned barber half, he then gave the 2 quarters to me which I had sent of and they came back as details too! So I had to find the other denominations. Just missing an 1892 EF-UNC Details NGC Graded coin
I was wondering why the theme for the details coins, but I would be happy to own them as well given the lineage. Is the 92-O a details coin?
Yes it is. I've received several coins from my grandfather that were cleaned. Apparently he just liked a 'pretty' looking coin which reminds me of another thread earlier this week about how the old timers graded coins as either nice and collectible worthy or tarnished and worn and therefore not so much, anyway, yes they are very special to me, will remain with me for the rest of my life and I'm only 25 now, so they are in good hands for many years to come
Did I overpay for these two Barber halves??? One is a 1914 P with a rim ding around the 1:00 position and well worn. The other is a 1915 with much better details, but has been cleaned in the past. It has a lot of hairlines diagonally across the front and back from where it was scrubbed. I paid $80/each.
I say you di very well! Especially on the 1915 P They had very low mintages on both these. a 1914 p half dollar in G-4 is listed at 140, but dings might reduce value quite a bit. but the 1915 p is amazing! a G-4 is listed at 110, and its quite a bit more than that. Although these are high high retail figures, you did very well.
I just started coin collecting earlier last year and the 1915 was my first coin purchase. It was what started my interest. I bought it from a homeless guy.
