Well gents feast your eyes on this. Its the only serial.#1 known on the 1957a series. Yes there are 6 known 1957 $1 known but this is a unique 1957a #1 NU.
Yes it is mine. I woud never put anything up without disclosing that it didnt belong to me. It is unique and so cool.
Serial number E00000001A is just as unique as E00000004B, which is just as unique as B30329381A, which is just as unique as *50302331A, which is... You get my drift. Every note is unique because of the BEP numbering system. No two notes of the same series will have the same serial number. To the OP, sweet note. You're looking at an easy 4 figures, and then some. So A00000001A, B0..01A, C0...01A, etc. are not in any census?
Really nice note, but you know 1 is the loneliest number. You might need another one to keep it company.
I know that a note with that serial grading 58 recently sold at a Lyn Knight auction for over $7,000, and it was a plain FRB note, not something as cool as a silver cert. I bet it would easily reach $10k or up if you decided to sell it.
I dont want to do anything out of line here but all I can say is that any interested parties should contact me. As a collector of mant things I do plenty of buying, selling and trading. I like to share what I have with others and I realize that not everyone can own everything. Having said that I know I always enjoy looking through auction cats., ebay, etc. Knowing full well that realistically my money only goes so far. Part of the joy of this hobby fir me is catch and release like fishing. Its that simple
How did you come to own this note? Inherited? Purchased? Found on a street corner under an 1804 silver dollar?
I think I will post it in the BST section although that was not my intent. I happen to live in a region where plenty of paoer money surfaces and I am contacted frequently to buy. I dont collect these types I am more interested in holding on to first and secind charter nationals like Lazy 2's $5 Brown backs that type of stuff. If anyone has any let me know.
Take the serial number and just reverse it...so $10,000,000? Kidding aside, that is a phenomenal find, in the fancy serial trade, that is the best out there!
Drinking, the OP is sipping on some whiskey; the kind from a jug with three X's on it. He is challenged to an old fashioned bar fight with a one armed oaf named Chisbuns. Chisbuns throws a mean right hook and hits him right in the chin. The OP has a chin of steel, as folks did back then, shakes it off and kicks Chisbuns in the groin. Chisbuns' groin can take quite the punishment though, and they fight for another 20 minutes. To make a long story short, the OP awoke slouched over a bar stool with a sore pancreas, and this silver certificate that was to be surgically removed from his arctic regions.
