It looks like the colors shift in the printed ink area. That is neat. I don't collect painted coins but that is neat.

That is the Perth Mint. They are the hardest people to work with, but I finally got this one months after i purchased two of them.

Can't say I'm a fan of 'em but yours certainly are interesting Ruben.

Well, the Greeks painter their statues, so i can't see why we can't paint some of our coins, if done in taste and style. I liked many of the Perth Animal Coins but most are impossible to get your hands on.

I think that most coin collectors are on the traditional side- these may take while to win people over. That being said these seem to be carefully done and not cheesy (which could be a danger with these)

While I do like the painted coins from the Perth mint, I just cant bring myself to spend that much on modern coins. When I first started I thought about going for the same set you posted. But a quick calculation quickly changed my mind. I may still pick up a few items in the future if I'm lucky enough to get one before its sold out.

All of the painted coins I've ever seen look like they were done by an amateur. The first thing that always comes to mind is Smeagol saying "What's it doing? Stupid fat hobbit! He ruins it!"

But yours is different mrbrklyn. It's a work of art. Stunning.

Was it minted and painted by the Perth Mint?
