"Why don't you come over here and take a seat on Ol' Liberty?"

I tell you what, if that pic doesn't make you sit up straight, try to scan what is in there, and make you wish you could run your fingers through it yourself, I simply don't think you are a coin collector.

I don't care what you collect, a big old group of silver like that is PRETTY. :)

The Freudian/Rorschach in me morphed the sentence into, "...a big old group of silver like that is LIBERTY."

I feel no harm in touching my old circulated Barbers and Seated Liberties, but I do it sparingly.

Touchy, touchy feeling. I personally handle them to put into Danscos. I also handle them to put them in 2x2's to go into my binder pages. And I "touch" them as well. However, the ones I do touch are coins I throw in boxes and bags with time as I go along buying and find nothing special on them. I have a thing for holding real silver and older coins in my hand.

Ha! May I recommend the spey blade: http://www.casexx.com/DisplayDetailPage.asp?ProductCode=80161

That's what I'd prefer to feel in my pocket...speaking of which, I don't put change in the same pocket, since I don't want those harmful coins to scratch up my knife :hail:

My personal preference for "pocket" weapons is my trusty Swiss Army Knife. Stainless steel
and the original, Victorinox of Switzerland. However I do beleive a German firm, Wenger, also
makes pocket knives for the Swiss Army. I would be lost without my toothpick and trusty
    tweezers!---John

I think coins can be handled with bare hands(carefully) but am reticent to handle mint state coins I love the feel of a one ounce silver maple leaf in hand it's almost as good as good as well 009.jpg ..... you know

Eh, if its not going to hurt it, I love to hold them. I used to carry a worn out 1838 Large Cent in my pocket along with a dateless Standing Liberty. That's been years ago though, cause then the Standing Liberty disappeared, the 1838 went in the SDB.
