I want to know what the LARGEST and the SMALLEST coins that were minted.

    Minted between 1800 and 2012.

Largest is the Canadian 100 kilo gold coin. And the smallest is the tiny fanam?

No. Not what I meant. No one is gonna spend a kilo gold coin.

I mean coins used as regular ol coins. Like the dime, half dollar, farthing, etc.

Understood. Misinterpreted it. The 100 kilo coin is technically legal tender. Will continue looking

I think I may have a candidate for smallest somewhere around here...I'll have to take a picture, weigh it, and measure it. I have no idea where it's from...been meaning to ask the forum.

    THE SEARCH BEGINS!

Well I just searched through my 17th century-current coin catalogs

Turns out I discovered several typos, such as the Bahrain 1965-66, 83 1 fils coin being listed as 1.5mm rather than 15mm. A couple India coins being listed as 1.6mm and 2mm.

I believe the 11th-12th century Fanam is indeed the smallest at around 2mm.

From my Country :D, 1 Fils = 0.0026 US$, it was used for few years only then cancelled, now the smallest denomination is 5 Fils = 0.0132 US$.

the 1983 coin is a part of Sterling Silver proof set.
