Can I post copyrighted materials on CoinTalk?
You can, but only if you either own the copyright (meaning you created it yourself), or if you have the permission from the original creator to post it here. We cannot allow posting of copyrighted materials where the copyright owner doesn't acknowledge that the materials are freely posted to CoinTalk.
Does CoinTalk own the copyright of what people post?
The person who created the content, whether it be a photo, text, diagram, or anything else that is posted, retains the ownership of the copyright. However, by posting it to CoinTalk, you do grant CoinTalk the legal right to host the materials in perpetuity.
What if I find someone posting my copyrighted materials without my consent?
Please use the contact us form at the bottom of the page and let us know about the situation. We'll need to know who owns the copyright on the materials posted, where it was originally published, and that the person who posted in CoinTalk is not associated with the owner of the copyrighted materials.
What if I want all of my posts removed?
Under normal circumstances, the only reason we will remove a post is if it violated CoinTalk guidelines. If you think you might at a later date wish the post to be removed, you should not post it. If you do post, you are by default granting CoinTalk the right to host the posted materials without limitations.
Can I host my materials as images on a third party host?
CoinTalk does allow images to be hosted on third party services. We allow this due to the limitations of CoinTalk's servers and this may change at a future date. However, images hosted on third parties is a major security risk to CoinTalk and while we are currently allowing members to use third party hosts for images, members should not attempt to use these third party services for textual content.
