Heya everyone!

Sorry if I have exited you with the title, but no, no gold prizes here, sorry! :D

As many of you know, gold has been going up and up and up quite a bit lately and I know a lot of us are curious what the price will be in the near or far future.

Basically, post here what you think 1 ounce of gold will be worth on January 5st. When that day comes, the person closest to the amount it truly is will receive some silver coins as a prize. :smile

NO posts can be edited. Only ONE guess. And you must answer by December 2nd. Please post your guesses here on this thread, and of course, no repeating a price. ;) If you have accidentally repeated a price someone else did, DO NOT edit your post, just post a new one so we know that you didn't cheat by editing. :kewl:

Ready... set... go! :hail:

I am very sorry for the delay in posting the last round of this contest. I have had the completed image since tuesday but have been having serious computer issues and just recently found a way to post the pics. Every one got the previous round correct except for BLUE OXEN: he figured that he'd get it wrond anyway so its not so bad. The remaining 4 people should PM asap to see if we need a new round. I copied the answers of illini420 because he posted the most thorough answers:

The coin is an "1868" and not an "1886" as listed on the slab.

The coin is a "2C" and not a "C2" as listed on the slab.

The coin is an "RB" and not a "BR" as listed on the slab.

The grading company is "PCGS" and not "PGCS" as listed on the slab.

Finally, the coin's certification number of "14991833" is incorrect as that number is tied to a 1917 Walking Liberty Half Dollar graded MS63 in the PCGS database. The correct certification number for this coin is "14919833"

This is by far, the hardest round in the contest and hopefully one that will narrow the contest to just one or two people.

Lately a lot of people have been discussing investing here on CT and some of the threads have gotten a bit "heated" to say the least, so I thought that we could all just blow off a little steam and maybe everyone learn something at the same time. I hoped that we could have a little competition amongst ourselves with nothing on the line but pride and knowledge and in that respect we can all win.

On Dec. 1st, I will start a new thread in which everyone will post according to the following scenario:

you have $10,000 US and you can buy any coin or coins with that 10K in any combination. Prices will be taken from the PCGS price guide. These coins can be bullion, collector coins, or any other combination of coins provided that they are listed in the price guide.

Your entries must be posted by December 2nd at midnight EST.

You must post your entry to the thread and no editing of posts will be allowed (so get it right the first time). Any editing of a post will be cause for that post's disqualification.

The coin or coins in your portfolio may not be changed throughout the year. You get this one-time purchase and we'll see who has the most $ worth next year on Dec. 1.

anyone interested?? You have a couple of weeks to prepare.

let's get ready to rummmmmbleeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!
