Although it doesn't seem the blogs are very active on this website, I figured I'd give it a shot.

As some of you know, I live in Southern California where there is a pretty active numismatic marketplace. There are usually two or three coins shows within driving distance each month and I try to get to as many of them as I can. I am also able to attend auction lot viewings locally for most Heritage, Stacks/Bowers and Goldberg auctions. There are also well over a dozen coin shops within driving distance, but I only go to 5-6 of them on a regular basis. In addition, two of the nearby shops have a weekly bid board where collectors can put up coins for auction each week to be bid on by those who come into the shop. I try to check out those bid boards each week as the items change each week and I have found some really neat material and some awesome deals in the past.

I know that I am lucky to have so much numismatic activity in my area and know that is not the case in other parts of the country. Accordingly, I thought I'd share some of my experiences in the blog here and hopefully some of you find it entertaining.

Mike
