Today was awful. I got 11 penny rolls: One wheat (1945) and two Canadian. One nickel roll: a spot in my Whitman folder (1969). 2 dime rolls: Nothing. A quarter roll: nothing.:mad:

I'm not sure is this is posted in the proper location, because the owner is not sure how this should be classified,Medallion? Armor Attachment? Carriage
Emblem or Coat of Arms???


Here is a recent metal detector find. The location is the United Kingdom, England.

The approximate location described by the finder/owner : it was found one mile away from Leeds Castle in Kent. Elizabeth the 1st, Henry the 1st & 2nd and so on and Francis Drake all stayed there.It was found in a field, many 1000's of years ago use to be forest land used for game hunting. It was found in a field near and old bridal walk way and this field was a mile away from Leeds Castle in Maidstone in Kent.

Dimensions : diameter is 39.5 mm - thickness 3.4 mm - weight 17.02 grams. Believed to be mad of Pewter & Gold Gilding.

If anyone can help to identify this artifact it is greatly appreciated.The latest news from the finder/owner " at the moment a Portuguese museum are currently in the process of identifying the object/artifact, they want me to bring it to them but its a bit far to drop it off so hopefully they can identify it via photos "


Please view the following pictures, a Negative picture was created to allow for the legend to be read. Unfortunately it baffles many who have viewed this. There are recessed drillings where it seems precious stones/jewels may once have been part of this artifact. As mentioned in this post it seems it is Portuguese in nature but, this is all that is known at this point.

Hi everyone! I really have a pretty broad range of collecting. I collect pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, half dollars and dollar coins:rolleyes: I am mostly focused on finding old and rare stuff in circulation and in rolls, especially wheat pennies (I just found a 1942 today):D

Today was fantastic. I went through 11 penny rolls and this is what I got: 1944, 1949, 1956, 1959, a lot of uncirculated ones from 1960 onwards, 3 Canadian pennies, a really weird possible error coin which I will post later (it was so deformed I don't even know how it fit in the roll!) plus I found a 1957 quarter on the ground next to a CoinStar, and a random quarter on the ground I save up all the money I find on the ground, I started a few weeks ago and I am at 1.44

I found a dime in a penny roll. And a smashed up penny. It really bothers me how many Canadian cents I've gotten. If that Canadian cent wasn't in there, it could be replaced by a 1909 S VDB:mad:

Gosh, I am lucky. Out of my 10 dimes that I have in a jar, one of them happened to be a 1948.

I don't have a pic but a 1956 penny on the end.

Today was ok. I went through 11 penny rolls, only 1942 and 1948 wheats. Only one Canadian cent. I filled in a few slots in my nickel folder with a roll of nickels, and found my first New Mexico National Park quarter in one roll. But my best finding, I went through two dimes rolls and I got a silver 1963! That’s my second silver dime, 1948 and 1963. By the way, I have searched only about 110 dimes.

1937, 1945, 1950, 1955 in penny rolls (10) today. And a 2009 D Nickel, which I needed for some reason :)

Yes, Sir Mr. Anthony, here is coin 6 and 7 all of them still need a little more work.
There are, after a good bit of work. It looks like over half of them are Greek.
The folks I bought them said that the hoard came out of the desert somewhere in the Middle east.
They amaze me an it is so much fun to watch them as they were used
in circulation. So ever coin is subject to the use and wear in it's length of
circulation. Some are newer and others are worn from their time in Ancient commerce.

Coin 4 and 5 I'm liking it real well. Total coins recieved 57

I have not started trying to attribute them until I have cleaned them all.
