Greetings an Happy Holidays’
I've been fortunate collecting in the Jefferson nickel series. Here is where I'd love to have the new beginner feel what I've felt in collecting Jeffersons, the many ways to collect here.
From the Buffalo/Jefferson Red Book reading about our original designer Felix Schlag, his struggles back in 1938' in the making of this nickel. Delving into it even further it will offer you alot of history with a variety of interesting topics to choose from.
You are welcome to visit and view my collection of different types of nickels from Mintstate, Variety, Proofs, Early date ProofLikes,Full-Step,Silver Wartime Era, to my Rpm and Errors nickels. These will each have photo and descriptions on
each of them as well.
(Jims Jefferson Collection /1938 to date Circulated Series/ NGC Registry).
My Bio & Journals are informative as I collected in this series, since retirement in 2008’. Just copy an paste this Url , and it will take you to my Registry Collections.
http://coins.www.collectors-society....PeopleID=47409
Then just Scroll on down to see my sets.
Thank you for taking the time reading, if this just entices/inspires (1) person to venture in this series it will be worth it! Also, tell me about your collections, I'd enjoy seeing them as well.

It was "The Official Red Book", where I stumbled across a (Bio) of one of Americas Greatest Designers,(Felix Oscar Schlag). What brought my attention in collecting Jefferson nickels was Felix's Life History with his relentess Determination of creating the winning design. This Jefferson Series is so diverse, with so many ways to collect/ I wanted to get a "Little of Everything".

Quality Mintstate/Variety/Proofs/ProofLikes/FullSteps/Silver Wartime Era/ Rpm's Errors/ also dissecting of this Series to find/obtain the most difficult dates to at least(half-steps showing)that are next to impossible to find/purchase in a five full-step. Whew!

Now, that I have all of these in a safe deposit/Bank, I wanted to share all this with
fellow Jefferson Collectors...
Upon my Retirement in 2008, Contemplating/ Wondering, if it was to-late for me trying to grab a spot in the "Top 10".This Jefferson Set is something Special to me, It's a little different than what most collectors have in the Registry. On some of the dates, my coins won't have the(Registry Points) or hardly any (Numis-Value) at all. If you take a look at my collection, you will understand why I chose this path and my reasoning behind it. (Ngc Registry/nickels/1938 to date catagory/jb4gpo/JGB's Jefferson collection.)

I feel very fortunate getting this far which currently is in the #8 Ranking. Don't let the no-prices over half of my coins fool you, most of my collection' are low-mintage and very hard to find! Just being able to reach this goal even briefly, I felt that I achieved something that's been most Enjoyable and Rewarding in Assembling a High-Quality set of Various Different Types of Jeffersons.

So Yes! Anybody, who wants a Real-Challenge? This is it!

Hello To All,
I recently purchased a 1969-D Jefferson which has over half the steps on it!

Seller claims 4+Steps! Seeing as how it would be almost impossible to find in a True Full Five Step, I grabbed it! I know Pcgs an Ngc wouldn't even consider putting almost fs on their holders. So I called in to Anacs, they only put 5 or more steps on the Label-holder. Didn't want ICG,I had terrible business' with them in the past/So , I called in to SEGS , the lady said no problem, we can put the # of steps on it for you, no problem!

(If it wasn't for this date, I'd probably bypass all of this, however' with this being "THE RAREST' IN THE JEFF-SERIES, BEIN> IN A FULL-STEP!" I quickly went back to Ben Nagengast's, Jefferson Analyst Book in which he states, that it is even Very Rare' with more than half the steps on this coin. I also added in the fact, that there are a couple Sellers out on ebay now, that have these incredibly rare dates with SEGS Cert- asking $295 to $495 an Up! Just haven't ever seen one with a 1969-D yet!

I'm not doing this for the money, just wanting to get as close as I can on this
(69-D) as I can. A (1 in a 10,000) in FS! /So, getting as close as I could without breaking the bank, with at least half of the steps being there? SEGS, not the Top Grading-Service, but I would think they have Graders there knowledgable enough to know an' label this, a (almost full-step). :kewl: I thought it'd be awesome havin this one particularly being the King of the Series in a Certified Holder showing all this.

Seller wrote this> HIGH GRADE =+ 4+ STEPS+ STEPS 4=2=5=6--VERY RARE WITH FULL STEPS NICE SHARP STRIKE,HARD TO GET IN HIGHER GRADES Once, I get this in the mail, I'll try to put a photo up for all to see... :brush-teeth:
Everyone have a Great-Day! Jim/Chasindreams
I'm thinking of sending this coin in, and get it slabbed? which Grading Service would
benefit me the most, Pcgs or Ngc ? I've studied this with my loupe (10x17 mm) and its'
right there! These steps look great! I don't see anything getting in the way! but,I know
Ngc would be the toughest on grading out the Step-Area, an'Pcgs goes more for the quality
of the coin. help me out here, :help!A: which one, would benefit me the most,as far as high grade + full steps? Thanks in advance,,, Enjoy the photo(s) chasindreams

I recently purchased a 1953-D Jefferson RPM-1/Slabbed by Anacs. I would like to know what the Population of this (Rare-Variety) is.
The question, I'm tryin' to ask is,If it's Label'd RPM-1 on the Slab >> does this mean,it's a Inverted-D ?
I do know that it's not recognized by the Red-Book, I read that only a handful of collector's out there, have this Rare Jefferson-Variety, this is a ( Anacs/MS-64/D/D/RPM-1 ) I would Love to hear from a Jefferson Variety-Collector, who would know about this coin,I would sure appreciate that! Respectively' Jim/Chasindreams
